History of the troop

Our troop belonged and belongs to the Calvinist Church in Budafok. István Demjén founded the troop in the 1920s, before the church was built. He was the troopleader too.

The troop before the 2nd world war. Maybe at the Pass of Verecke

We don't know too much about that ages. But we have some fotos here . We know about a trip from 1941 to the "returned area" (southern part of Slovakia). They visited the thousand-year-old border at the Pass of Verecke, Kassa (known as Kosice) and cross River Danube at Esztergom.

During the Communism as everywhere in the "eastern block" scouting was banned. So our troop was also paused.

Our troop refounded in the year of the millenium (2000 october) width two Petrols (Beavers and Dandelions) under the leading of Zsuzsanna Pátkai. Thanks for Sándor Geyer, and Dávid Illés, who was the pastor then for a while. And of corse our parents... ;-)

Since then, we had summer camps, and many trips and hikes. We were in July 2001 in Csobánka (near Budapest), a month before Carpathia. There was the Promise too. In June 2002. stayed near Pula not far from Lake Balaton. That autumn two other patrols joined.

The 20th Jamboree, Thailand Two of us - Klári and Lillu - participated the Jamboree in Thailand (2003).

In August 2003. we camped togeather 486. Bátorkeszi István scout troop near Buják (northwest part of Hungary, not far from Hollókő).

August of 2004 stayed we near Újudvar (western part of Hungary).

Togeather the closer troops forms us the South-Buda section.
